Understand the need
Identify the residents and housing needs a project is intended to serve, then assess location, land, servicing, and approvals.
How it works
The exact ownership, membership, occupancy, and financial terms will be set for each housing community before opportunities are offered.
The development path
Identify the residents and housing needs a project is intended to serve, then assess location, land, servicing, and approvals.
Develop the housing plan, capital budget, operating model, governance documents, and financing strategy.
Complete approvals, procurement, construction, and the operational systems needed before occupancy.
Apply the approved membership and occupancy rules, maintain the homes, and plan for long-term reserves.
Membership & tenure
A cooperative can have a different relationship between residents and their homes than a conventional rental or purchase. The details matter: membership criteria, occupancy agreements, charges, voting, maintenance responsibilities, and exit rules must be documented for the specific project.
Potential land arrangements, including a long-term ground lease, will also be evaluated at the project level. RLCH will publish confirmed details before seeking applications or commitments.
